Weeklong Summer Drawing Session for Young People

WORKSHOPS

Workshops 2018

Why not consider joining Joel Popadics on one of his watercolor workshops? A trip to a beautiful location does wonders for your spirit and helps you make great strides as an artist.

In his workshops he demonstrates how to get the elusive feeling of light and air in your paintings. Topics vary and include how to handle many aspects of the landscape. Following his demonstrations, you will have the opportunity to paint and apply the concepts presented. Methods for creating effective clouds and skies will be explored, as well as how to mix a natural looking green for your trees. You'll also learn how to achieve spatial depth using a prismatic color approach. Individual instruction is provided throughout the day.

Here's what people are saying about his workshops:

Joel Popadics is a rare combination of wonderful artist and excellent teacher. His classes and workshops are well organized and brimming with useful, helpful ways to refine and understand how you see as well as easy to understand ways to paint all different subjects. He is very generous with his time and creates a fun learning atmosphere. I have attended three of his workshops and each one was great!
Denise, Washington, D.C.

I just completed a weeklong Plein air watercolor painting workshop with Joel Popadics along with my sister. Joel's instruction was 'spot-on' being able to reach all of us in the class with clear demonstrations, one to one feedback, hints, techniques and problem solving throughout the day. We were really impressed with the difference in our painting after the week was complete. Not only that, he is a great guy! Funny, interesting, and interested in his students. We had a blast and will plan another painting adventure with him in the future.
Lauren, Williston, VT

My sister and I attended Joel Popadics' workshop, Exploration in Watercolor - A Tour of Shelburne and Charlotte, Vermont. He instructed the class using demonstrations along with captivating explanations and pertinent stories from his vast experience. Joel's teaching style is clear, motivating and interesting while providing excellent individual feedback. His approachable, friendly manner provided an open atmosphere for all to grow as painters in a very well-structured and memorable workshop.
Janet, Cumming, GA

Joel's plein-air workshop was ideal for me. He is a very good teacher, providing valuable demonstrations along with clear instruction. We painted outdoors for three full days covering a wide range of subjects. This was a great learning experience and one I would highly recommend to any watercolor artist.
Christine, Tiverton, RI
